SUNDOWNING occurs most often in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s/other dementias. Studies estimate up to 20 % of persons with Alzheimer’s/other dementias will experience increased confusion, anxiety & agitation as the day ends (sun sets). Others may experience changes in their sleep schedule & restlessness during the night.
